Coastal Georgia for Democracy Becomes Savannah Indivisible, Unveils 2026 Mission
Strategic rebrand confirms group’s commitment to independent progressive advocacy
SAVANNAH, GA – January 5, 2026 – Coastal Georgia for Democracy, a grassroots organization dedicated to protecting constitutional rights and democratic principles in Georgia’s First Congressional District, today announced its name change and rebrand to Savannah Indivisible. The newly renamed group will continue its core mission of progressive advocacy with a sharpened focus for 2026.
The original name of “Coastal Georgia for Democracy” represented both the geographic focus and the group’s focus on democratic values and Constitutionally guaranteed civil liberties. From day one, the group included Savannah Indivisible within the logo to convey independence from America’s political parties and alignment to the national Indivisible organization.
The rebrand accomplishes three key goals. First, simplicity in naming. “Savannah Indivisible” is easier to remember and easier to say. Second, it reasserts the group’s position within the political landscape. Third, it retains the group’s original secondary brand name and powerful visual identity.
“Savannah Indivisible is one of thousands of local Indivisible groups in the U.S. with a mission to elect progressive leaders,” said Suzanne Moccia, co-chair and director of communications, Savannah Indivisible. “Our new name simplifies our identity, underscores our political independence, and reinforces our commitment to progressive advocacy.”
Resist. Reclaim. Renew.
As part of the rebrand, Savannah Indivisible is committing to three strategies that will guide its work in 2026:
Resisting authoritarian overreach and the erosion of democratic rights.
Reclaiming freedom as an equal, constitutional guarantee for all people.
Renewing communities through advocacy, mutual aid, and long-term investment.
“2026 will be the defining year for America’s future. Everything – from our civil liberties to our ability to pay for food to our reputation in the global community – is on the line,” said Suzanne Potts, co-chair and director of outreach, Savannah Indivisible. “We need to show up in the streets. We need to show up in the voting booth. We need to show up for one another. Showing up is what matters and that is the foundation upon which Savannah Indivisible will operate.”
