We’re bringing together experts to answer your questions on one of the most pressing issues facing every Georgia resident: the explosion of data centers all over the state.
The issue is a firestorm of controversy for very good reason. We’re asking questions like:
- Why do we need so many new data centers? Why can’t old ones be upgraded?
- What is the environmental cost?
- Why do data centers get tax breaks and zoning exceptions?
- Why do Georgia Power residential customers pay for data centers’ subsidies and discounts?
- What is the political process for their approval and how can residents get their voices heard?
Members of the Georgia Public Service Commission, data center experts, and elected officials will answer your questions. This town hall is for every resident to raise concerns about the ethical, economic, and environmental fallout of these sprawling complexes.
We want the truth, we want the facts, and we want to know what we can do next.
